World War II Days.
This weekend fed my soul.
I spent time around some AWESOME people.
Laughed more than I have in a long time.
Last week was a long week for me.
Trevor and Jen were gone.
So It was a lot of time training.
Which I love.
But, I am human.
I got tired.
It would have been easy for me to skip out on the weekend.
It would have felt “justified.”
I was challenged a couple weeks ago by Bryan Dodge.
“Give Energy to those that matter most.”
Don’t come home at the end of the day and give your family little because you’re tired.
So, we went to World War II Days.
In the scorching September heat.
It was awesome!
One of our favorite events of the year.
We collected bullet casings.
Talked about history and guns.
Tried on equipment.
Had a blast.
Then we got Ice Cream.
Because of the Scorching September Heat.
Then We took a nap.
Then, I cheered for Iowa.
Which is a minor miracle.
But I did it for friends.
and Because I despise Penn State.
We spent time with about 20 people that just fed my soul.
We ate taco’s.
Had a drink (or 2).
Had a Bundtini.
I left there energized.
It was one of those nights that just lifts you.
Reminds you how blessed you are.
I believe in health.
Health & Fitness.
Fitness demands that you workout.
It sometimes requires Bundt Cakes.
Because that’s what you eat with friends.
(just be careful of the ones that have a Bundt punchcard.)
You eat tacos.
Have a drink.
This fly’s in the face of fitness.
But it’s healthy.
People with strong friend bonds have a tendency to live longer.
They generally have a better life.
Because good friends bring out the best in you.
There have been numerous studies on this.
Get great friends that you invest time and energy into.
And they do the same for you.
Live life with them.
If you do, you will,
Be challenged to be your best.
Have support when you need it.
Find people that love you for who you are.
Challenge you to become the best version of yourself.
Walk the path with you.
That is how to have good Health.
