Do You Need to Make a Change? Do This…

The Day Everything Changed… And Why It Still Matters Today

20 years ago, I found myself standing on a scale staring at big red numbers that said 296 pounds.

But it wasn’t just about the number.

It was what it represented.

I was unhappy with who I had become.
And more importantly, I knew I wasn’t going to be the dad I wanted to be.

That hit me hard.

The truth is, I hadn’t gotten there overnight.
I had been overweight for about two years.

And during that time, I had tried to lose 40–50 pounds at least four different times.

Every time I started, I went all in.
Every time, I expected fast results.

And every time… I quit.

Because the small changes didn’t feel like enough.

That’s where most people get stuck.

We’ve been taught that it has to be all or nothing.
Perfect or failure.

But standing there at 296 pounds… something shifted.

I didn’t decide to lose 50 pounds.

I decided I just didn’t want to weigh 290 anymore.

That was it.

Simple. Specific. Achievable.

Then I made one change.

At the time, I was a pharmaceutical sales rep.
I was driving all day, eating fast food, grabbing whatever was convenient, and finishing the meals brought into meetings.

So I cut that out.

No more fast food.
No more mindless eating.

If I didn’t have food packed, I gave myself one option… Subway.

At the same time, I started working out again.

Nothing extreme. Just consistent.

And I stayed there until I hit 289.6.

Then I made the next change.

I started packing all my meals.
Focused on protein.
Made sure I was drinking enough water, at least half my body weight in ounces.

I didn’t rush the process.
I didn’t stack 10 habits at once.

I earned the next step.

And I repeated that process over and over again.

Small changes.
Stacked consistently.
Over time.

Six months later, I had lost 50 pounds.

But here’s what matters most…

It wasn’t the weight loss that changed my life.

It was learning how to change.

Because since then, my weight has fluctuated.
My body composition has changed.

Life has seasons.

But I’ve never been stuck the same way again.

Because I have the tools.

And that’s exactly what we focus on with our clients today.

Not quick fixes.
Not extreme challenges.

We are preparing you for the marathon of life.

We are helping you build:

Strength that lasts
Habits that stick
Confidence that carries over into everything you do

Because whether you have 50 pounds to lose or not…
these principles still apply.

One change at a time.

That’s how real transformation happens.

Not just physically… but mentally.

You start to trust yourself again.
You build confidence.
You become proud of who you are… not just how you look.

So before you think about doing everything…

Ask yourself:

What’s the ONE thing you need to start doing right now…
or stop doing…
that you know is holding you back?

Drinking enough water, getting 7,500 steps per day, working out 3 days per week, preparing your own food, cutting out late-night snacks, and stopping drinking calories.

Pick one thing, not all!

Yes, it seems insignificant, but you are building habits and habits win.

Start there.

That’s how this begins.

And that’s how it lasts.
