“Are you always this way?”
This is a question I get often.
Especially at 5:30 am when I am dancing around (loose term ;)) and getting people pumped up to train.
I try to choose to live a positive life.
I lean towards believing the best in people and myself.
It’s not easy.
It is not “natural” for me.
I’ve seen enough crap and bad things that I could get caught up in being cynical.
That’s not the way I want to live.
I have also seen a tremendous amount of good that inspires and drives me to want the best.
We receive messages everyday.
Most of the time I see people surviving there lives.
3 Years ago, I made decision to not “survive” my life anymore.
I didn’t want to hate Mondays and live for the weekend.
it has been a crazy journey.
It has added a stress to myself that I didn’t anticipate.
It has complicated my life in ways I would have never imagined.
It has challenged my marriage, my family, has pushed me beyond what I thought were my previous limits.
It has also brought me a TREMENDOUS amount of joy.
It has allowed me to impact the lives of people I would not have otherwise met.
It has allowed me to be impacted by people I wouldn’t have met.
Everyday, we have choices.
We can choose to see the good or we can rely on our instincts and think the worst is coming.
We work, go home, spend time with the family or friends, wake up, rinse and repeat.
“I don’t want to” fills our day.
We get around good people that are frustrated and together, we have the tendency to bring each other down.
Whether at work, kids events, or other places.
You do have a choice.
I continue to read more.
I take in more motivational and inspirational messages than most.
I post them.
Honestly, they are for me.
One of my favorite quotes is from Zig Ziglar.
It goes like this.
“People often say that motivation doesn’t last, well, neither does bathing, that’s why we recommend it daily.”
I love it.
What we fill our mind with is ultimately what we are going to become.
Show me your friends and I’ll show you what your life will look like in 5 years.
Show me the things you are reading and consuming and I will show you what you attitude will be like.
Be careful what you fill your mind with and who you surround yourself with.
We have enough garbage going on around us.
The news, government, politics, death, war crappy stories.
We get them now more then ever because we have so much social media and everyone has a camera.
We can see EVERYTHING!
Be careful what you watch and consume.
Be intentional about the things you are reading and seeing.
Fill your mind with good things and it will change the way you see things and the way you act.
I don’t mean bury your head in the sand and act like bad things don’t happen.
But, filling your mind with positive will help you live a better life.
If you live a better life, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on someone.
If you can impact one person, the world becomes a better place.
I don’t know how to solve the problems in the Middle East, North Korea, or all of our Problems here in America.
But I know that if I choose to to do good and be a light to others, I can make a positive impact.
Maybe that will ripple onto other people.
Maybe they will ripple onto others.
And so on.
And so on.
And so on.
Be intentional with your life.
Be a light.
