“So where have your blogs been?”

It’s a question I have received recently.

My blog has been void of new stuff.

Not intentionally.

I didn’t mean to.

How did I get here?

Ever said that?

I started writing hard a few months ago.

Ran with it for a month or so.

It felt good.

I was thinking and growing, while documenting it.

Then I stopped.

I have lots of thoughts.

Often, they stay in my head (which is good sometimes.)

I really enjoyed blogging about what I was learning.

Then I “got busy.”

Not really.

Truth is I was busy when I was writing, I just prioritized it.

I made time each day to start thinking about what was important and what I was learning.

But then, I changed my priorities.

Not intentionally.

Ever been there.

We often use the phrase “I’m busy” for a lot of things.

I’m sure you are busy.

So am I.

But the truth is, what is important gets done.

If it’s a priority, we’ll do it.

If not, it will fall by the way side.

Have you ever looked at your life and thought, how did I get here?

I have.

I “woke up” one day weighing 300 lbs.

A series of small, unassuming steps lead me down a path I didn’t want to go.

We often take little things for granted.

We want the big steps.

We want to go from 300 lbs to 200 lbs of less over night.

It doesn’t work that way.

The hard part is we have to set some priorities, start taking action, then adjust as we go along.

So, I want to reprioritize my time and write again.

Because it’s good for me.

I enjoy it.

It makes me think about what I am learning.

The fact that I didn’t write for so long shows me that maybe I wasn’t learning enough.

Maybe I started taking for granted what I was reading, listening and learning.

So, I know this.

A New Year is coming.

I’m not going to wait for New Years Day to change.

I’m going to start taking action today.

That way I am hitting the ground running in 2018.
